The Underdog

Welcome to this blog about a special 1971 Vespa 50S, nicknamed "the Underdog".

The scooter was bought as a donor bike from Sarpsborg, and the only intention I had with it was to rib it off its engine.

But the chassis seemed to be in such a good state that it would be a shame not to try to get the register papers for it. So I contacted the previously registered owner.

The previous owner was a bit surprised, the scooter had been stolen from him several years ago, and he had written it off completely. But he was kind enough to sign off the papers, and was happy that somebody would restore it to former beauty! And even better: The engine turned out to be tuned to 105ccm!

The Underdog is currently awaiting restauration/customization. I have no plan for it yet, except for utilizing left over parts from the Ferdinand restauration.
